BEng Hons Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Courses

Our Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science BSc degree programme will equip you with both the computing and scientific skills to solve real-world problems in one of the leading centres for Artificial Intelligence teaching and research in Europe. This stream explores the latest advances in speech and language processing technologies. Students will cover how to build systems that understand spoken or written languages; classify, analyse and generate text; sentiment analysis and information retrieval from large amounts of textual data. This gives the opportunity to work on a larger, in-depth project—putting into practice the knowledge, programming techniques, and other skills that have been taught throughout the degree.

You will be assigned an Academic Advisor who will guide you in both academic and pastoral matters throughout your time at Queen Mary. Student life

Evidence of working to and completing tasks relating to targets set by an employer and directly related to software development/programming will be required. Students will have undertaken an agreed number of hours on the activities, identified personal goals and targets in relation to these activities and maintained a reflective portfolio as a record of evidence of their competence and achievements. The nature of the activities undertaken will be subject to the approval of the module convenor before acceptance on the module. You will study topics such as programming, machine learning, classification, clustering, AI in Healthcare and more, with modules that challenge you to combine and apply these topics on practical projects with career-launching outcomes. Students need a sufficiently high score in their Diploma or University level study (3.0+/4.0 or 3.2+/4.5).

As part of your studies with us, you will be able to access online educational resources from the Intel AI Academy and AWS Educate programme. Our specialist facilities include a Cisco and AI lab, and we use tools such as Microsoft Imagine Premium and VMware IT Academy.

In addition to any timetabled sessions, you will meet with your supervisor regularly, and you can also go to them at any time should you have any issues, academic or personal. There are problem classes to help you put learning from lectures into practice and regular project supervision meetings for your individual project. You’ll study and learn with academics who are active researchers, experts in their field and have a passion for their subjects. This module will introduce the student to key topics within control and signal processing, developing understanding through a combination of theoretical content and practical application. Artificial Intelligence, MSc

This module extends earlier work on PDEs by presenting a variety of more advanced solution techniques together with some of the underlying theory. The course presents the principles and applications of electromagnetic theory with examples in high-speed electronics, communications and electromagnetic compatibility, and provides an introduction to photonic engineering. In years 3 and 4 you’ll specialise in AI, and can follow your interests by choosing modules from a wide range of options.

Holders of the Sri Lankan A-Levels will be considered for undergraduate programmes as an equivalent to GCE A levels. If you have obtained a 3 year diploma it is sometimes possible to gain ‘advance standing’ to the second year of some undergraduate programmes. If you have completed a 2 year certificate or diploma at a local college, you may be considered for admission to undergraduate programmes in some subjects. Holders ai engineer degree of the Thanawiyan are not normally eligible for direct entry onto an undergraduate course without completion of a suitable foundation programme, such as one of our own foundation pathways.
